Shop 'til you Drop
Dec. 9th, 2005 07:47 amI went insane shopping yesterday. Books of course. Yuka and I were at the UofT bookstore's christmas party; free wine and food, and 20% discount on all books.
The Cambridge Encyclopedia of Child Development
APA Style Guide, version 5
Freire's Pedagogy of the Oppressed (never had my own copy)
Dave Gorman "Googlewhack Adventure"
and something called "Practices of Looking: an introduction to Visual culture"
Plus some presents of course.
it is sooo nice to buy books again.
On another note, I did my first stint as co-editor of the Journal of Dracula Studies (yes, it is a real MLA indexed journal) with Elizabeth. It is looking more professional than ever, though this is an anniversary issue mostly with poetry and fiction. It used to be 8.5x11, and looked a bit homemade, but we're not 8.5 x 5.5, and it looks like a real journal. We're also now all double blind peer reviewed, starting next issue, and we've got a new editorial advistory board and reviewers. Now I need to buy a copy of InDesign to get it all formatted properly from now on. I used a demo copy.
