Westchester Man To Take Possession Of Dracula’s Castle - April 11, 2006 - The New York Sun - NY News” “A Westchester County man who is a descendant of the royal family of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Dominic von Habsburg, is waiting for the Romanian government to hand him the keys to Dracula’s Castle, the 13th-century palace where he grew up before the property was seized by communists.”

Of course, this wasn’t Dracula’s castle… since he’s the fictional character of an Irishman. But it is a castle often pawned off to tourists as castle dracula.

From MONEY Magazine’s Best Jobs: The Top 50: Professor is #2.

MONEY Magazine: How we picked the best jobs - Apr. 12, 2006: “To find the best jobs in America, MONEY Magazine and Salary.com, a leading provider of employee compensation data and software, began by assembling a list of positions that the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects will grow at an above-average rate over 10 years and that require at least a bachelor’s degree…. Next we rated positions by stress levels, flexibility in hours and working environment, creativity, and how easy it is to enter and advance in the field…. We then ranked the jobs, giving double weight to compensation and percentage growth. Data for the top 50 appear here. Any job that fell in the bottom third of two job-satisfaction categories, or in the pay or growth category, was removed from consideration for the top 10.

In the eye of Fouhse: “Be careful of what you say when visiting the new exhibition, Without a Passport, at Karsh-Masson Gallery. Kenneth Emig has placed hidden microphones around the two floors of the Byward Market gallery. On the first floor, there is a large satellite dish suspended from one wall. Place your ear close to the dish and you can hear the conversations of people in faraway corners of the gallery.Emig’s work is called Listening. It is frighteningly Orwellian and quite suitable for an exhibition about all the Big Brothers at airports, immigration offices and other venues designed to inhibit the flow of people around the globe in this terrorized, post 9/11 world.”

Ken’s a buddy of 30 years, and a collaborator on various stuff.
