Hossein Derakhshan Missing in an Iranian Prison

Hossein Derakhshan’s still missing in an Iranian jail. I found this picture I took of him Feb. 2005 with is now ex-wife Marjan, which is the last time I saw him.

Since Canadian journalist Zahra Kazemi was killed in Iran in 2003, I’m not feeling all warm and fuzzy about his stay in Iran. I don’t need to agree with someone’s views or politics to think that as a Canadian citizen, Hossein is someone we should be worrying about. I’ve emailed Olivia Chow, my local MP, but I’ve not heard anything. And CNN is just saying on TV that an Iranian businessman was hanged today for spying for Israel, the same charge Hossein’s been charged with.
