Green Gadgets Shown To Be Eco-Hazards | EcoGeek: “two MP3 players, one that looks like it has sustainability on the brain, but in actually can’t be recycled, can’t be upgraded, and toxic substances are used in its manufacturing. The other MP3 player looks sleek in a non-sustainable way, but is more durable, can be upgraded, and recycled.”

Good article and links.

I always find this kind of thing quite amusing. When you dig into "green products" a high percentage of the time, you find similar information to this article. It might be because a product is transported over great distances. One of the more amusing ones I stumbled across recently was Burts Bees. Turns out, all hippy and green Burts Bees imports its bee's wax from Africa. Now, how much does that little journey contribute to greenness?

Good point. though if Burts Bees is keeping a community financed through fair business practices, and are shipping by boat, the footprint is probably pretty small. And we've killed most of the bees in north america with our radio waves.
