Spent the lunch hour listening to Jim Ellinger of "Austin Airwaves" (http://jim.ellinger.org) talk about radio and the Katrina disaster. I can imagine how ECE educators can be the front line in getting information out in developing environments when doing overseas placements. Just an interesting thought. Don't forget... radio is technology.

We've spoken before on how radio is one of the most successful "distance learning" tools in the less/least developing parts of the world. There was even an article on this which I think I might have shared with you at some point... if you need it badly, I can dig it out next time I come up for air.

Yes, I remember the convo(s) well, and I was mentioning your work to Jim. He'll be up again next fall, and I'm going to have him speak to my class, since many students do practicum sessions in developing communities. Do dig when you have time.

Where the Hell is Jim...?
