Just talked to my dad on the phone. He was calling with birthday greetings, singing his version of Happy Birthday. My present was to be told that dinner had been paid for at Gamelle. I’ve never eaten there, as it is slightly out of our budget range, but we’d planned to go for lunch at some point. Time for a pastis, a bottle of Gigondas, some frog’s legs!
