Geekness Defined

Was chatting with Jen Cole today and spontaneously came up with this statement that I think encapsulates how it is: “geekness is sustained intrinsic motivation & interest in a location of inquiry, reflection and action that is personally meaningful.”

I’ve realized that geekness is the normal for doing things: gardening, tech, research, inquiry, writing. we all should be a geek in something, if not, what are you doing with your life? but you CAN be a geek in living or social networking or caring or nurturing.

Then someone we all know and love said “geekness is a propensity to bite the head of chickens, which when generalized is a propensity to do things that might not meet societal approval”.
