International Campaign Against Shari'a Court in Canada

Check out http://www.nosharia.com/ for information on the upcoming protests about the imposition of Sharia law in Canada.

Personally, I'm opposed. I see it as part of a political agenda, not religous belief. And I don't mind going on record opposing the institutionalization of any social or political system functioning in Canada that does not explicitly promote equity and equality regardless of gender or sexual orientation.

Personal beliefs are personal, and I don't feel I have any voice in what someone believes, but when something becomes part of the state legal system, I think we must demand equity and equality in all legal venues.

I wonder how it went.

ECE912 rulz...

Just in the midst of the second lab for my wednesday section of EVE912 here at Ryerson University. Everyone seemed to get the bit about reflective journalism right away, and they're now all customizing their LJs, forming blogging groups, and setting their journals as friends only. I swear I didn't demand it, but it is going to be a neat experiment to see how people journal in closed groups rather than totally public. Blogging with students gets both easier and more interesting every year.
