It is comwave who is blocking the iPhone according to MacNN, and I’m sure that all the mac fans who have been waiting for the iPhone to appear in canada must hate them. I know I would be, and I’d probably think they were just hijacking the name for profit, seeing that they filed for the trademark AFTER apple, according to MacNN. That article also says they claimed to have used the name only 3 months before Apple applied. Such is life.

I only just touched an iPhone yesterday, and found them interesting, but I’m not ready to buy one.

Had lunch with Alex H, and talked about some projects, and his latest book which is just finishing up.

Met Aleja at the new Mac store at 14th and 9th. We got an appointment for a Mac expert for today.

Andrew and Aleja were making fun of me.

We went to Pastis again, at the end of the day. Getting in just at 5 to miss the crowds.

I like pastis! The drink that is.

Went back to aleja’s place to fix her old computer so that she can pass it on to someone else. It has a bum hard drive, but I’ve got some spares.

I caught a cab from tribeca up to 42nd to catch laura after her show, but missed her by 10 minutes, and she was already on the bus to NJ. I caught the next bus, and when I got off at the stop at the end of their street, I took this picture.

I’m off to see FUERZABRUTA with Aleja; Andrew and I waited in line for rush tickets. Just left andrew and laura, as laura’s in between shows, and they’re off for dinner. Andrew and I hit the road early tomorrow to drive home, and I can catch up with things. Can’t wait to get back to work!

Slashdot | All 44 Blackboard Patent Claims Invalidated has a lot of links talking about Bb’s patent fights. I’m too tired to look up the stuff in the past, but Bb seemed to be trying to patent everything having to do with online learning, as if they had invented it. I’ll have to dig later, but I’m happy that things are moving forward. I have no professional opinion on blackboard or it’s claims, but I’ve personally not ever seen anything in blackboard that I’d not seen in other environments. I look forward to seeing how it is resolved.
