It is comwave who is blocking the iPhone according to MacNN, and I’m sure that all the mac fans who have been waiting for the iPhone to appear in canada must hate them. I know I would be, and I’d probably think they were just hijacking the name for profit, seeing that they filed for the trademark AFTER apple, according to MacNN. That article also says they claimed to have used the name only 3 months before Apple applied. Such is life.

I only just touched an iPhone yesterday, and found them interesting, but I’m not ready to buy one.

I want one really bad but I haven't played with one yet so maybe I won't like it.

actually I do really like it, but I don't trust first opinions

yeah, they are very interesting, I've played with one, only partially as one of my friends has one that has been "hacked" so they can use it with Fido

It is interesting but I dont think I would use it to the full potential as of yet anyways.

You could always try to the Itouch, its the same but no phoning capabilities except for VOIP i think.

itouch doesn't interest me at all, as I have too many old ipods about, but to get rid of my ipod and cell phone for an iphone would be nice.

well if your thinking that way (if only really interested in music + cell and no wifi), technically all cellphones can do this. Unless you still want the "apple" aspect for the music.

The alternatives if you wanted the multitasking tool would be something like the n95.

I wonder when there going to come to Canada though

technically, yes. but I have studied enough aesthetics, useability and design to find that all cellphones I've used just turn me off. I refuse to participate in memorization or guessing that the engineer what smoking when s/he did that. I would prefer to have no cellphone whatsoever, since they all suck, including the iPhone, and anyone who says otherwise, imho, lacks a nuanced aesthetic. However, there is a potential for the iPhone to suck a bit less, because unlike most tech, apple puts at least a bit of thought into design and useability. I've already found one thing I hate about the iphone (not telling) but that's one, where the other phones I've used have dozens.

Thanks for your thoughts.
