Oh, so this is my blog?

i'm going to be using this as my main blog for the fall. There are a couple of reasons for this, some of which are worth sharing. First of all, I have started my new job at Ryerson, and my students, as per usual, will be using LiveJournal. I want to 'model practice' and use this one along with them for the term to see if it engenders greater communication and whatnot in the course. Secondly, my horrid ISP blocked my use of Moveabletype because of something they claim the the software did, and is more than likely something they did. And they won't let me get back in to either fix it or to back up the system. Needless to say I'm leaving them as soon as I get a moment. Finally, I just need a change. MT is nice and all, and I do have years and years of content on it, but if you want to remain current and open minded about the technology you use, you should try not only new things, but revisit old things, to see how they've changed, and how your thoughts may have changed in relation to it. Should be fun.

Can one export from MT to LJ yet?

doubt it. but I can't get IN to MT, so it is moot.

I'm trying to convince Dr. D. that she wants to use Live Journal for her Italian Sabbatical.

I don't think she's convinced, though.

Duh, with flickr tied in.

i like the live journal:

for use with students, the social aspects seem more in tune with two way communication with live journal, where mt seems more journalistic: it seems most mt users get less comments, ect.

yes, more community centred individualism, vs totally individualistic.
