Just because Google does it, doesn't mean you have to use it. This smells like Craigslist because... it is! Without Craig, mind you.

Duh. All technologies are tied to cults of personality, not any inherent value in the tech itself. We should only ever use one iteration of a technology predicated on this fact. There is no other option.
