iiii writes "According to a Yahoo News story, half of the world's human population is infected with Toxoplasma, a parasite shown to alter the brain function of rats, inducing them into behavior that benefits the parasite but is suicidal for the rat. So what affect does it have on humans? Article comes complete with Heinlein 'Puppet Masters' reference. I call dibs on using Toxoplasma as a name for my rock band."

This is too Monty Python- or Douglas Adams-esque for me not to chuckle. Maybe now I can finally come up with a viable theory of biological determinism showing how me and my friends and section of society as a whole are a little better than everyone else because we aren't controlled by brain parasites. Then I'll get eggs thrown at me by angry leftist anthropologists while innocently walking into the hotel where my peers will honour me with some flashy award and a modest cash prize, their cries of "shame!" will leave me with a feeling of guilt and I'll likely resign and become a farmer in Cyprus.

But yeah, I've always questioned the reason behind blogging. Now I know.

Of course it also causes the feeling that you and your friends are part of the percentage not infected, or so my angry leftist anthropologist self conjectures. But all is well... we ALL should become farmers in cyprus, vint the wine, let the cheese ripen in cool grottos, and slaughter the goats and roast them on spits. When are we leaving?

Hahahahahahaha.

Actually, it was because I used my old account to post that comment, but then I realised it was too silly to repost. You know how it is.
