This is a great video, via Jeremy. I like what it says about indoctrination. As one commenter put it, something like, what’s worse, the hegemony of the parents or religion. How do children get to form unbiased viewpoints? Of course, I don’t think anyone has unbiased viewpoints. The language and culture we grow up in doesn’t allow it.

it's from someone's POV and they are inherently biased. I think that when children grow up to become adults, through education and good parenting skills, they are able to look back on their religion, etc. and form their own opinions. Some people stay in their religions and some people leave. It's just important if someone can feel comfortable with the choices that they make.

hmmm... there's a taint of objective choice detectable behind there. I thought we moved from a newtonian world to heisenbergs already. How can we feel comfortable with the choiced we make when we don't even know if we made the choices. Even when they come from our own hearts, mouths and souls, can we reall know they came from us? :)

Newton's laws can still explain many things:)

PS--Even if there is no true choices to be made, it's good to feel comfortable when you have to make a decision between two things and end up believing that you picked the right one. Heck, it may not be the right one. But then, if I'm happy and things work out, I don't wanna know anymore.
