This article totally reminds me of the amazing creativity and love of life that europeans have. The summer going into 3rd year i spent travelling all over europe (and north africa) and it was the locals' attitudes that i found to be so refreshing. I think the bunny will bring smiles to peoples faces, something that europeans don't leave home without, and furthermore i think that us north americans can learn a lot from our geographical neighbours' life-loving ways.

yes. we can hide from the sour d00ds to the south, and look more widely afield. Longer holidays would be a first step.

Giant Pink Bunny

A surreal experience I am sure it will be to visit this hillside. It definitely made me laugh (out loud) in the library this morning. I hope that in years to come that it weathers nicely, like a favourite plush toy with years of handling and washing. I can't imagine what that artist was smoking when he came up with the idea! I need some of that I think! It will make school a lot more enjoyable I am sure :)

Yes, we should drape one over Ryerson!

Children everywhere will scream in terror...

First thing I thought was that this really looks like the Easter bunny, lying dead after collapsing onto a hillside after a possible heart attack from too much chocolate...

I had to laugh after your comment. I actually went back and took a second look. I hope children don't think it's the Easter bunny.

Reminds me of the time (in the late 60s) when Claes Oldenburg offered the City of New York a 300-ft pink rabbit in Manhattan, which he would make and place either for free or for a nominal fee. They refused.
(This was a year or two after he had installed a giant lipstick on a turrentless military tank-base in the exquisite marble courtyard of the Yale Rare Book Library. I wonder what happened to that.)

Well, new york. What does one expect. This should be on italian mountain sides. In repose.

PS the Oldenburg rabbit would have been upright, not lying down....

what a conversation piece!

I think this is was a wonderful idea. I really shows how people's imaginations can contribute to thier own country. I would love to hear what people have to say when they actually get to see it first hand.

I love seeing things like this. People just coming together to create something for pure pleasure. Kinda makes you think about doing something similiar, though nothing could top a huge pink bunny!
