Reminds me of the time (in the late 60s) when Claes Oldenburg offered the City of New York a 300-ft pink rabbit in Manhattan, which he would make and place either for free or for a nominal fee. They refused. (This was a year or two after he had installed a giant lipstick on a turrentless military tank-base in the exquisite marble courtyard of the Yale Rare Book Library. I wonder what happened to that.)
